Wenchun Qu, MD, MS, PhD holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of PM&R and Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. He is board certified in PM&R, Pain Medicine, and serves as a consultant in the Department of Pain Medicine at Mayo Clinic Florida. He is the Director of Regenerative Pain Medicine, Chair of Spine Research Committee, co-Chair of China Regional Development Group, and a member of Augmented Human Intelligence Advisory Group at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Qu received medical education at Second Military Medical University in Shanghai, and received MS in Biostatistics and PhD in Occupational Science at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed postdoctoral fellowship training at University of Pennsylvania, residency in PM&R and fellowship in Pain Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester. His clinical practice focuses on regenerative therapy for MSK and spine conditions, interventional pain management, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. His research focuses on regenerative medicine research, including clinical trials of cell therapy for degenerative disc disease, facet arthropathy, and spinal cord injury. His group also investigates the next generation of stem cells with gene therapy, and the effect of biologics on CNS pain pathway. He authored more than 50 peer reviewed publications, 3 books, and 9 book chapters, and has been a prolific speaker at national and international events on pain management, advances in regenerative medicine therapies, rehabilitation, and hospital management.
